Hello, I'm Cara. I've worked for years in the educational publishing sector as an editor and literacy publisher, developing a deep knowledge of curriculum-based publishing. 

 

I'm also a writer with more than 80 published children's educational books – fiction and nonfiction – under my belt.

I live in the North Island of New Zealand  with my family, five cats and three chickens. From my office in the ex-convent we live in, I have worked extensively with international publishers in Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Singapore and South Korea.

 

Although I specialise in K–6 primary/elementary literacy, and have experience in writing, editing and project managing teaching and learning resources in that field, as well as both maths and ESL material for students and teachers, I have been involved in projects for secondary school students and adults, too. I have developed concepts and project managed large projects for varied audiences. I have experience in other fields, too, including  academic, museum, library and health media.
