ABOUT ME

Hello, I'm Cara. I'm a writer with more than 60 published children's books – fiction and nonfiction – under my belt.

I worked for years in the educational publishing sector as

an editor and literacy publisher, developing a deep knowledge of curriculum-based publishing.

I live in the North Island of New Zealand with my family, five cats and three chickens. From my office on the coast, I have worked extensively with international publishers in Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Singapore and South Korea.

I work now as a writer and project manager. Though I specialise in K–6 primary/elementary literacy, I have written extensively in other fields, too; I have a lot of experience in writing teacher resources, and ESL material for both students and teachers. I have written for beginning students to secondary school students. I have developed concepts and project managed large projects for varied audiences.
